Description
DEMCO PUR 425 UVM/S is a two-component, solvent-based, UV-resistant, transparent polyurethane matte varnish.
It is used to protect the surfaces to which it is applied against the wearing effects of external factors such as sunlight, rain and seawater, and in particular as a final-coat varnish for Terrazzo systems and for surfaces where a matte appearance is desired.

Surface Preparation and Application
Mixing: After component A has been mixed in its own packaging, all of component B is poured into component A and the two components are mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
Surface preparation and application:
- The application surfaces must be free from oil, rust, dust and similar impurities. There must be no moisture on the surface and no loose layer must remain.
- Sheet metal: after sandblasting, prime with a suitable primer.
- Wood: clean with sandpaper or a sanding machine, remove the dust and allow to dry, then prime with a suitable epoxy impregnating primer.
- Concrete: roughen the surface by shot blasting, grinding or milling. Prime the prepared concrete surface with Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnating Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR so that it is impregnated, following its application instructions.
- Repair any cracks and holes in the surface with epoxy putty.
- Apply DEMCO PUR 425 UVM/S with a brush, roller or airless spray gun as a protective matte varnish on the prepared and primed surface and/or on previously applied Terrazzo or other coatings.
Thinner: If needed, it can be thinned with the polyurethane thinner DEMCO PUR 1000 THINNER at a maximum ratio of 3–5%.
Application Conditions
- The temperature in the operation area should be in the range of 15°C – 30°C.
- The ideal temperature of the surface to be coated is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
- For applications in indoor and outdoor areas, the surface temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The moisture content of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity must be below 65%.
- The applied surface must not be touched and must not come into contact with water for 24 hours after application.
- Mix only as much product as is needed for the work, and continue the application until the whole mixture has been used.
- The full curing time at room temperature of DEMCO PUR 425 UVM/S applied at 20 – 25°C is approximately 7 days.
- After the primer coat has been applied, make sure that the primer surface has become touch-hard; depending on the ambient temperature, DEMCO PUR 425 UVM/S should be applied approximately 24 hours later.

Storage and Shelf Life
It should be kept in its original, unopened package in closed and dry places at 15 – 25°C. It must not be exposed to direct sunlight. Under these conditions, the shelf life is 6 months.
