Description

A solvent-free, epoxy-based binder system with high UV resistance. It is a modified epoxy-based resin used in colored stone/aggregate and terrazzo systems.

Advantages

  • Contains no solvents.
  • Low viscosity and easy to apply.
  • Thanks to its UV resistance, it provides protection against UV and sunlight.
  • Penetrates the capillary pores within the concrete structure.
  • Provides a transparent appearance in decorative three-dimensional floor coatings.

Application Areas

  • Colored stone/aggregate systems.
  • Terrazzo systems.

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete surfaces primed with Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnating Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR.

Surface Preparation and Application

Surface preparation

  • Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants.
  • The surface to be coated must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
  • Glossy surfaces should be roughened by shot blasting or milling.
  • The prepared concrete surface must be primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnating Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR, following the application instructions, so that it is fully impregnated.
  • Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.

Mixing

  • All of component B must be poured into component A and the two components mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  • Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.

Application

  • The product is mixed with stone/aggregate or the terrazzo system in the desired ratio and poured onto the prepared and primed surface.
  • Spread evenly over the surface with a trowel or straightedge.

Application Conditions

  • Working area temperature must be 15°C – 30°C.
  • The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
  • For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
  • The relative moisture of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
  • A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
  • When applied at 20 – 25°C, the product reaches full cure at room temperature in 7 days on average.

Coverage

Varies depending on the stone and aggregate used.

Storage and Shelf Life

At 15 – 25°C, in dry, enclosed storage areas away from direct sunlight, in the unopened original packaging; 1 year.

Packaging

Total Net: 18 kg (A: 11,34 kg / B: 6,66 kg)
