Description

Two-component, acrylic polyurethane-based varnish. Used on floors and surfaces requiring slip resistance, pool surrounds and areas exposed to atmospheric corrosion. Provides excellent UV and corrosion resistance as well as slip resistance.

Advantages

  • High resistance to ultraviolet radiation.
  • Good adhesion to the previous coat.
  • It has high corrosion resistance.
  • Its textured structure provides slip resistance.

Application Areas

  • Floors and surfaces requiring slip resistance
  • Pool surrounds
  • Areas exposed to atmospheric corrosion

Suitable Substrates

  • Blast-cleaned and primed sheet metal (steel) surfaces
  • Cleaned and primed wood surfaces
  • Roughened and primed concrete surfaces
  • Previously applied coatings

Surface Preparation and Application

  • Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. The surface must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
  • After blasting, sheet steel surfaces should be primed with the Surface-Tolerant Primer-Paint (Steel) DEMCO EPOX 148 STEEL or the Solvent-Based Epoxy Primer (Steel) DEMCO EPOX 132 PR/S.
  • Wooden surfaces must be cleaned with sandpaper or a floor sanding machine, freed of dust and dried, and then primed with Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnation Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR.
  • Concrete surfaces must be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or milling. The prepared concrete surface must be primed with the solvent-free epoxy impregnation primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR so that it is fully impregnated, following the application instructions.
  • Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.
  • After the primer coat has been applied, make sure the primer surface has become touch-dry; depending on the ambient temperature, the varnish should be applied after approximately 24 hours.
  • Mixing: After mixing component A in its own container, pour the entire B component into component A and mix for at least 3 minutes until the two components form a homogeneous mixture. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
  • The product is applied by brush or roller as a topcoat varnish over the prepared and primed surface and/or over a previously applied coating.
  • Thinner: Not to be thinned with thinner.
  • During work, mix suitable quantities and continue working until the entire mix has been used up.

Application Conditions

  • Working area temperature must be 15°C – 30°C.
  • The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
  • For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
  • Substrate moisture content must be below 4% and ambient humidity below 65%.
  • For 24 hours after application, the surface must not be touched or come into contact with water.
  • When applied at 20 – 25°C, the product reaches full cure at room temperature in 7 days on average.

Coverage

A film thickness of 50 – 60 µ is achieved with a consumption of 0,150 kg/m² in a single coat.

Storage and Shelf Life

At 15 – 25°C, in dry, enclosed warehouses away from direct sunlight, in the unopened original packaging; 6 months.

Packaging

Total Net: 15 kg (A: 11,25 kg / B: 3,75 kg)

Safety Precautions

  • Avoid contact of the mixture or components with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • Wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
