Surface Preparation and Application
Surface Quality: The concrete surface must be sound and of sufficient strength. The concrete substrate must be clean and have adequate compressive and tensile strength.
Surface Preparation: The surface of the structural element to be treated must be cleaned of residues such as plaster, paint, oil and rust, as well as weak cement laitance and weak particles, and any necessary repairs must be carried out to obtain an even surface.
Mixing:
- Briefly mix component A using a mixing paddle attached to a low-speed electric mixer (max. 300 rpm).
- The entire B component should be poured into the A component, and A+B should be mixed for 4 minutes with a low-speed mixer (approx. 300 rpm) and a suitable mixing paddle until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, taking care that no unmixed material remains on the sides and bottom of the container.
- Avoid over-mixing to minimize air entrainment.
- Mix only as much material as can be used within the pot life.
- When bulk material is used, the exact mixing ratio must be maintained by accurately weighing and dosing each component.
Application Conditions
- The ambient temperature during application should be within 15 °C – 40 °C.
- DEMCO® 900 is supplied in ready-to-use sets. Do not add solvents or similar thinners to the mixture during application.
- Care should be taken to prepare only as much material as can be used within the working time.
- Mixing must always be carried out using suitable mechanical mixers. Do not mix by hand.
- For special cases not covered in the data sheet (different application areas, weather conditions, etc.), consult the technical team of Demmerg Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.
