DEMCO EPOX 2700 SELF

Description

DEMCO® EPOX 2700 SELF is a solvent-free, epoxy-based, hygienic self leveling floor coating system with a smooth, easy-to-clean finish, suitable for food contact and specially developed for floors exposed to medium and heavy mechanical and chemical loads.

Surface Preparation and Application

Surface Preparation

• Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants.
• The surface to be coated must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
• Glossy surfaces must be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or scarifying.
• The prepared concrete surface must be primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnating Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR, following the application instructions, so that it is fully impregnated.
• Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.

Mixing

• After component A has been stirred in its own container until homogeneous, the entire component B is poured into component A, and the 2 components must be mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
• If desired, quartz is added to the mixture as the C component, and mixing is continued until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
• Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.

Application

• The Epoxy-Based Self-Leveling Floor Coating DEMCO EPOX 2700 SELF is applied to the prepared and primed surface with a notched trowel or squeegee, and the air bubbles formed are removed with a spiked roller.
• CAUTION! Owing to its excellent flow properties, it is designed for horizontal floors; it is not suitable for use on vertical surfaces, as it will run and sag.

Application Conditions

• Working area temperature must be 15°C – 30°C.
• The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
• For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
• The relative moisture of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
• For 24 hours after application, the surface must not be touched or come into contact with water.
• A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
• When applied at 20 – 25°C, DEMCO EPOX 2700 SELF reaches full cure at room temperature in an average of 7 days.

Coverage

A dry film thickness of 1 mm is achieved with a consumption of 1,6 kg/m².

Storage and Shelf Life

At 15 – 25°C in dry, closed warehouses away from direct sunlight, in unopened original packaging; 1 year.

Safety Precautions

Avoid contact of the mixture or its components with skin and eyes; in case of contact, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles, and keep the product out of the reach of children. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Approvals / Standards

• Tested to EN 1504-2 within the scope of CE certification.
• In overall migration tests carried out according to EN 1186, it meets the legal limits specified in the EU 10/2011 and TGK 2019/44 regulations.
