Description
Solvent-free, epoxy-based, self-leveling floor coating system with a smooth surface finish, easy to clean and hygienic, to which quartz can be added if required, used for floors exposed to medium-to-heavy mechanical and chemical loads that need to be opened to traffic quickly. It is used on concrete and cement-based surfaces for coating warehouses, laboratories, schools, hospitals, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, shopping malls and supermarkets, aircraft hangars, exhibition and trade fair areas, the electronics industry, industrial production areas and car parks.
Advantages
- High mechanical and chemical resistance.
- Easy to maintain and clean.
- Dust-free. Hygienic.
- Wall-to-wall, jointless, seamless and monolithic.
- Spreads well and produces a smooth surface.
- Thanks to its fast curing, DEMCO EPOX 2004 SELF/FAST applied at an ambient and substrate temperature of 20 – 23°C can be opened to traffic within 5 – 6 hours.

Surface Preparation and Application
- Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. The surface must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
- Glossy surfaces should be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or scarifying.
- The prepared concrete surface should be primed with Solvent-Free Fast Epoxy Moisture Barrier Primer DEMCO EPOX 114 PR - FAST so that it is fully impregnated, following the application instructions.
- Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.
- Mixing: The entire B component should be poured into the A component, and the two components should be mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- DEMCO EPOX 2004 SELF/FAST is applied quickly onto the prepared and primed surface with a notched trowel or squeegee, and any air bubbles that form are removed with a spiked roller.
- Spike rolling must be done carefully and, if possible, within approximately 10 minutes after application. Avoid excessive spike rolling so that no roller marks remain.
CAUTION! Due to its excellent flow properties, it is designed for horizontal floors and is not suitable for vertical surfaces, as it will run and sag.
Application Conditions
- Working area temperature must be 15°C – 30°C.
- The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
- For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The relative moisture of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
- For 24 hours after application, the surface must not be touched or come into contact with water.
- A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
- The full curing time at room temperature of DEMCO EPOX 2004 SELF/FAST applied at 20 – 25°C is 7 days on average.
