Description
Water-based, epoxy-based conductive primer, used as a base primer under conductive paints and coatings. While increasing the strength of the surface to which it is applied, it ensures that subsequent coats adhere firmly to the surface. It effectively controls static electricity. It can be used safely in environments where electrostatic sensitivity is critical, such as electronics manufacturing and assembly areas, hospital operating rooms, hazardous dust and chemical environments, and cleanrooms, and by preventing static charge build-up it ensures the safety of both equipment and the environment.
Advantages
- Water-based, solvent-free and low-odour.
- Quick and easy to apply by roller.
- Does not yellow or fade over time.
- Electrostatically conductive.
- Forms a hard film.
- Easy to clean, dust-free and does not harbor bacteria.
- Long-lasting performance; suitable for forklift traffic.
- Provides a highly conductive grounding plane.
Application Areas
- As a base primer under conductive paints and coatings
- Electronics manufacturing and assembly areas
- Hospital operating rooms
- Hazardous dust and chemical environments
- Clean rooms

Surface Preparation and Application
- Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. The surface must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
- Glossy surfaces must be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or scarifying.
- Depending on the structural condition of the concrete, it is recommended to apply a primer selected from the appropriate DEMMERG CHEMICALS concrete primer products. The prepared concrete surface should be primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Moisture Barrier Primer DEMCO EPOX 110 PR, in accordance with the application instructions, so that the surface is impregnated.
- Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.
- Mixing: Pour the entire A component into the B component and mix at low speed for at least 3 minutes until the two components form a homogeneous mixture. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- Apply Water-Based Epoxy Conductive Primer DEMCO EPOX 181 PR CONDUCTIVE/WB by roller to the prepared and primed surface 10 hours at 25 °C or 8 hours at 35 °C after the primer application.
- After 4–6 hours, the conductive epoxy self-leveling coating, paint or conductive coating is applied.
- CAUTION! Make sure that the conductors connected to the grounding line are completely covered by the epoxy conductive primer.
Application Conditions
- The ambient temperature during application should be 5°C-35°C.
- Application should not be started if the substrate temperature is below 10°C.
- Must not be used on substrates known to be affected by rising damp or in environments with relative humidity above 75%.
- DEMCO EPOX 181 PR CONDUCTIVE/WB must not be applied to asphalt, unmodified sand/cement screeds, PVC tiles or vinyl surfaces.
- Make sure that sufficient cover is provided to prevent the material from being exposed to a "wind tunnel" effect.
- A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
Coverage
0,250–0,350 kg/m² in a single coat.
