Description
DEMCO EPOX 160 TIX is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy-based textured topcoat for concrete, metal and wood surfaces.
Used in areas where food is produced, stored and sold, on floors requiring slip resistance, and for coating the floors and walls of places such as warehouses, stores and offices.
Advantages
- Has very good chemical resistance and high mechanical strength.
- Prevents dusting of the surface to which it is applied.
- Resistant to cold greases and machine oils used in repair and maintenance work.
- Thanks to its thixotropic properties, it can be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces without sagging.
- After application, its textured appearance provides a slip-resistant surface.
- Provides good waterproofing.
Application Areas
- Floors of areas where food is produced, stored and sold
- Floors requiring slip resistance
- Floors and walls of warehouses, shops and offices
Suitable Substrates

Surface Preparation and Application
- Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. The surface must be free of moisture, and no loose layer whatsoever may remain.
- Glossy surfaces should be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or scarifying.
- The prepared concrete surface must be primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnating Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR, following the application instructions, so that it is fully impregnated.
- Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.
- Pour all of component B into component A and mix the two components for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- DEMCO EPOX 160 TIX is applied on the prepared and primed surface with the flat side of a trowel, rolled with a satin roller and then finished with a texture roller.
- A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
Application Conditions
- Working area temperature must be 15°C – 30°C.
- The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
- For both outdoor and indoor applications, substrate and ambient temperature as well as ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The relative moisture of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
- For 24 hours after application, the surface must not be touched and must not come into contact with water.
- When applied at 20 – 25°C, DEMCO EPOX 160 TIX reaches full cure at room temperature in 7 days on average.
