Description
A two-component, solvent-based epoxy topcoat. It provides excellent protection against atmospheric corrosion. It is used especially for the protection of steel structures. After application of a suitable primer, it also provides excellent adhesion and protection on concrete and wood surfaces.
Advantages
- High chemical and mechanical resistance.
- Easy to apply thanks to its low viscosity and long pot life.
- Can be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Thanks to its semi-elastic properties, it moves together with the substrate; it does not crack or break.
Application Areas
- Protection of steel structures against atmospheric corrosion.
- For protecting concrete and wooden surfaces to which a suitable primer has been applied.
Suitable Substrates
- Steel (sheet) surfaces – after blasting and priming.
- Concrete surfaces – after roughening and priming.
- Wooden surfaces – after cleaning, drying and priming.

Surface Preparation and Application
- Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. The surface to be coated must be free of moisture.
- If the substrate is sheet metal, it must be blast cleaned and then primed with Surface-Tolerant Primer-Paint (Steel) DEMCO EPOX 148 STEEL or Solvent-Based Epoxy Primer (Steel) DEMCO EPOX 132 PR/S.
- If the substrate is wood, it should be cleaned with a sander or floor planer, freed of dust and dried, and then primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnation Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR.
- If the substrate is concrete, it should be roughened by shot blasting, grinding or scarifying. The prepared concrete surface should be primed with the Solvent-Free Epoxy Impregnation Primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR, following its application instructions, so that the substrate is impregnated.
- Any cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using epoxy putty.
- After component A has been mixed in its own container, all of component B should be poured into component A, and the two components should be mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- If necessary, it can be thinned by 3 – 5% with DEMCO EPOX 1100 THINNER.
- The Solvent-Based Epoxy Topcoat (Concrete-Steel) DEMCO EPOX 134 TOP COAT/S is applied by brush, roller or spray gun.
- A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
Application Conditions
- The working area temperature should be 15°C – 30°C.
- The ideal substrate temperature for application is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never be below 10°C.
- For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The relative moisture of the substrate must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
- For 24 hours after application, the surface must not be touched or come into contact with water.
- When applied at 20 – 25°C, the product reaches full cure at room temperature in 7 days on average.
Coverage
A consumption of 0,120 – 0,150 kg/m² per coat is required (50 – 55 µm film thickness).
Storage and Shelf Life
At 15 – 25°C in dry, closed warehouses away from direct sunlight, in unopened original packaging; 1 year.
Packaging
Total Net: 20 kg (A: 15,00 kg / B: 5,00 kg)
