Description
DEMCO EPOX 150 TOP COAT is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy-based top coat. It is applied on metal, wood and concrete surfaces. It is used to coat the floors of all industrial areas where food articles are produced, stored and sold and where a smooth finish is required, as well as the floors of warehouses, stores and offices.
Advantages
- High chemical and mechanical resistance.
- Low viscosity and easy to apply. Can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray.
- Provides good water isolation.
Application Areas
- Floors of industrial areas where food articles are produced, stored and sold.
- Floors where a smooth finish is required.
- Floors of warehouses, stores and offices.
- Horizontal surfaces only. Due to its very good flow, it is not suitable for vertical surfaces, where it would sag and run.
Suitable Substrates
- Concrete
- Metal
- Wood

Surface Preparation and Application
- The application surface must be clean and completely free of rust, oil, dust and other contaminants. The surface must not be damp, and no loose parts may remain on it.
- Glossy surfaces should be roughened by shot blasting or milling.
- Prime the prepared concrete surface with the solvent-free epoxy impregnation primer DEMCO EPOX 100 PR so that the surface is impregnated, following the primer's application instructions.
- If necessary, repair cracks and holes and level the surface with epoxy paste after priming.
- Pour all of component B into component A and mix for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Use a low mixer speed to avoid air bubbles in the mixture.
- Do not add any thinner.
- Apply DEMCO EPOX 150 TOP COAT on the prepared and primed surface by brush, roller or airless spray.
- Mix only as much material as is needed for the application, and do not stop the application until the whole mixture has been used.
ATTENTION! Due to its very good flow, the product is designed for horizontal surfaces. It is not suitable for vertical surfaces because it sags and runs.
Application Conditions
- The temperature in the application area should be between 15°C and 30°C.
- The ideal substrate temperature is 15°C – 30°C; it must never be below 10°C.
- For indoor and outdoor applications, the substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The substrate relative humidity must be below 4% and the ambient humidity below 80%.
- The applied surface must not be touched or come into contact with water for 24 hours after application.
- When applied at 20°C – 25°C, DEMCO EPOX 150 TOP COAT reaches full cure in approximately 7 days.
Coverage
For a dry film thickness of 220 – 250 µm in a single coat, 350 – 400 g/m² should be used.
Storage and Shelf Life
It should be kept in its original, unopened package in closed, dry places at 15 – 25°C. It must not be exposed to direct sunlight. Under these conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
