Description
Demco® 941 is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy-based, high-strength, thixotropic saturating and bonding resin.
Advantages
- Easy to mix and easy to apply with a trowel and saturation roller.
- Thixotropic. Vertical and overhead applications can be carried out easily.
- Offers high mechanical properties.
- High fiber saturation capability and high adhesion to concrete.
Application Areas
Demco® 941 is suitable for professional users only. It is used for applying carbon and glass fiber fabrics by the dry application method.
Suitable Substrates
The concrete surface must be sound and of sufficient strength. The concrete substrate must be clean and have adequate compressive and tensile strength.

Surface Preparation and Application
- The surface of the structural element to be treated must be cleaned of residues such as plaster, paint, oil and rust, as well as weak cement laitance and weak particles, and any necessary repairs must be carried out to obtain a smooth surface.
- Before mixing begins, the temperature of the material should be between 15 °C and 25 °C.
- The entire B component should be poured into the A component, and the A+B components should be mixed for at least 3 minutes with a low-speed (~300 rpm) mixer and a suitable mixing paddle until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, taking care that no unmixed material remains on the sides and bottom of the container.
- Take care to avoid air bubbles during mixing. Mix only as much material as can be used within the pot life.
- Apply the material to the primed surfaces by roller to achieve a thickness of 0.8-1 mm.
- While the material is still wet, fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) fabrics cut to the appropriate size should be stretched in the fiber direction and bonded to the surface.
- The fiber-reinforced polymer fabrics should then be pressed with a roller along the fiber direction to ensure that Demco® 941 is fully absorbed into the fabric and that no voids remain between the fabric and the surface.
- The second coat of adhesive must again be applied with a roller onto the fiber reinforced polymer fabric bonded to the surface, in the direction of the fibers.
- In multi-layer fiber-reinforced polymer applications, 700-800 g/m² of adhesive should be used between layers.
- To allow plastering over it, angular sand must be broadcast onto the product while it is still wet after the final coat has been applied.
Application Conditions
- During application, the ambient temperature must be within 10 °C – 30 °C.
- Demco® 941 is supplied in ready-to-use kits.
- Solvents or similar thinners must not be added to the mixture during application.
- Care should be taken to prepare only as much material as can be used within the working time.
- Mixing must always be carried out using suitable mechanical mixers. Do not mix by hand.
- When bulk material is used, the exact mixing ratio must be maintained by accurately weighing and dosing each component.
- For special cases not covered in the data sheet (different application areas, weather conditions, etc.), consult the technical team of Demmerg Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.
