Description
Epoxy-based, two-component bonding and assembly mortar. It is used for anchoring all types of rebar and setting anchor elements; for repairing and sealing concrete cracks and sealing cracks during crack injection; for all types of structural concrete repair; for mounting and bonding all kinds of metal parts to concrete or steel elements; and as an expansion joint tape adhesive.
Advantages
- Easy to mix and apply.
- Suitable for dry and damp concrete surfaces.
- Adheres very well to many building materials.
- A high-strength adhesive. Offers good chemical resistance.
- Thixotropic and non-sagging. Suitable for vertical and overhead applications.
- Contains no solvents.
- Cures without shrinkage.
- No primer required.
- Good abrasion resistance.
- Impermeable to liquids and water vapor.

Surface Preparation and Application
- Surface preparation: Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil, rust, dust and similar contaminants. No loose layer may remain on the surface to be coated.
- Mixing: The entire B component should be poured into the A component, and the two components should be mixed for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mixing at low speed is recommended to prevent air bubbles from forming in the mixture.
- When used as a thin-layer adhesive, the mixed adhesive is applied with a spatula or trowel.
- When used to bond metal profiles to vertical surfaces, they are supported by pressing with clamps and/or props for at least 12 hours, depending on the substrate and room temperature.
- Where new columns, beams or shear walls are to be added to the concrete, holes or channels are drilled into the concrete; after the dust has been removed, they are filled with the Epoxy Anchoring, Repair and Assembly Paste DEMCO EPOX 284, and the anchor bars are quickly inserted.
- Thinner: Not to be thinned with thinner.
Application Conditions
- The working area temperature should be 15°C – 30°C.
- The ideal substrate temperature for application is 15°C – 30°C. The temperature must never fall below 10°C.
- For indoor and outdoor applications, substrate temperature, ambient temperature and ambient humidity must be taken into account.
- The relative humidity of the substrate must be below 4%, and the ambient humidity below 80%.
- A suitable amount of mixture should be prepared during work, and work should continue until the entire mixture has been used.
- The full curing time of DEMCO EPOX 284 applied at 20°C – 25°C is 7 days on average.
